Rig
Where the term ‘shark ‘n’ taties’ comes from. Rig belongs to the Triakidae family - a group of houndsharks / ground sharks. They‘re Jaw’s little cousin - so while you won‘t need a bigger boat, you’re deffo gonna need a bigger stomach. A prized fish & chip shop fav it is a firm, white, boneless fish with low oil content. Freshly fried Rig can initiate a feeding frenzy.
-
Elephant
A fish & chip superstar. Elephant Fish have firm white flesh with low oil content - they belong to the same group as sharks and rays so there are no bones, only cartilage. Despite the kind expression in their eyes, they won’t be coming to a Disney movie near you, specifically because of their very disturbing nose thingy. Luckily they taste better than they look!

Blue Cod
Blue Cod are indigenous to New Zealand and are common in colder waters South of the Cook Strait and around the Chatham Islands. The Codfather of the fish and chip world... Highly prized for its mild, slightly sweet taste. It is best enjoyed battered and washed down with a nice tipple. AND Blue Cod being bottom dwellers it’s more than fitting to say... “Bottom’s Up!”
“The Townchip is the best! Great burgers, and funny fishreviews on the wallpaper. So good!”
